A Living Room Salon Goes Citywide:
True Muse Arts Lands at Colvin House
March 25, 2026
Chicago, IL —After quietly building one of the city’s most intimate and interdisciplinary performance platforms, True Muse Arts is stepping into a new chapter with a formal partnership at Colvin House & Creative Coworking—now its official home base and a primary site for its evolving Second Sunday Salon series.
Founded by artist, vocalist, curator, and producer Linda Solotaire, True Muse Arts operates at the intersection of performance, community, and cultural dialogue. The organization centers Chicago-based artists across disciplines—music, poetry, visual art, dance, and more—with a clear commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices, including Black, Latinx, women, and LGBTQ+ artists.
At its core is the Second Sunday Salon: a deliberately intimate, genre-fluid gathering where jazz sets bleed into poetry, visual art shares space with live performance, and the line between audience and artist softens. What began in a Rogers Park living room in 2019 moved through a Skokie backyard during the pandemic, then into a raw Humboldt Park venue, steadily building a following drawn to its unpolished, human scale. Now, with Colvin House as a central hub—and additional activations planned in Pilsen and beyond—the Salon is expanding without losing its sense of closeness.
The Colvin House partnership signals both stability and growth. Roughly half of True Muse Arts’ upcoming Salons will take place in the historic Edgewater space, alongside an expanded slate that includes artist talks, workshops, and deeper interdisciplinary experimentation.
True Muse Arts is also strengthening its collaborative footprint through partnerships with organizations such as Cirqua Rivera Dance Theatre and NON:op Arts & Humanities, widening its reach into dance, film, and performance-based storytelling.
“Colvin House feels aligned in a way that’s rare,” says Solotaire. “It supports the kind of work we do—work that’s rooted in connection, not just presentation.”
Next Up: April 12 | Poetry Month Salon at Colvin House
The next Second Sunday Salon lands April 12 with a Poetry Month edition featuring Latin Jazz by Joe Rendon & Friends and a curated lineup of Chicago poets led by Lynn Fitzgerald. The evening will also feature paintings by Tigerlily Cross, audience participation in NON:op Arts & Humanities’ Inventory of Lost Books project, and a curated menu by Colvin House’s in-house chef. Expect a multidisciplinary, open-format experience that reflects the Salon’s core ethos: porous, participatory, and grounded in live exchange. Doors at 5 PM.
